Tottenham are still in the hunt for a top four place and currently sit in third spot, eight points behind leaders Manchester City. Spurs bounced back from defeat to Arsenal with a home win against Southampton at Wembley and Mauricio Pochettino wants his players to remain focused during a tough run of matches, with plenty of Spurs tickets still available online.
Pochettino suggested his players took their foot off the gas during their 3-1 victory over struggling Southampton on Wednesday night. Harry Kane, Lucas Moura and Son Heung Min fired Spurs into a three goal lead inside 55 minutes, but the Saints hit the woodwork three times and had goalkeeper Hugo Lloris to thank after a man of the match performance.
Charlie Austin netted a late consolation for Southampton and the Spurs boss was quick to remind his players not to lose their focus, despite coming away with all three points.
Pochettino said: "I was saying that maybe we conceded more chances in the last 30 minutes than in 90 minutes against Arsenal.
"Yes, with 3-0 maybe we drop a little bit in our concentration. I think we start to think the game was over and always it is so dangerous when there is so much time to play.
"Of course in the end, Lloris was man of the match because it was an unbelievable action that save, but that we cannot afford.
"In the same way I try to understand, it was a tough evening, difficult to play the three emotional games we played last week. You pay. It is not easy to feel fresh in your legs or your mind - play or not play, players that don’t play are the same.
"For me the most important thing is to keep going, 33 points, third in the table and I think a fantastic Premier League season."
Spurs have some tricky fixtures to tackle over the next few weeks with a demanding Premier League schedule to overcome, plus Champions League and Carabao Cup tickets later in the month.
Tottenham are back at Wembley on 15th December when they host Burnley, followed by a midweek Carabao Cup tie against north London rivals, Arsenal at the Emirates. Spurs then finish the year with two home matches. Bournemouth are the visitors on Boxing Day before Wolves travel to London three days later.
